To be a political prisoner in Iran is very dangerous at this time, Tehran is continuously violating the human rights of its population but especially against detained dissidents. One recent case of human rights violation is the one about Ali Moezi his sentence is served but Tehran refuses to release him.
The list of violations against prisoners in Iran is long and it is getting longer, Tehran does not seem to change their ways, another case is about Tahereh Riahi, journalist and social editor of Borna news agency who is detained in Evin Prison, she was allowed a brief phone call to family, no new news of her fate. she is in the critical physical condition in prison. The NCRI is on a constant mission to save the lives of these political prisoners. Numerous parliaments have joined in the quest to shed light on the regime’s atrocities.
It is well known that the rights of women are non-existing in the mullahs regime, Maryam Rajavi is the determent to change this as soon as the mullahs are removed from power.
In tomorrow’s Iran, women will have the same rights under the law as the men, they will also enjoy the same rights to any education they desire. And most important to women will be, that she can choose what clothes to wear, or if she wants to wear a hijab or not. The most important issue for Mrs. Rajavi is that women will be equal to men on all subjects, a woman can become a politician if she wants to, in fact, Mrs. Rajavi wants a law that states that 50 % of the government must be women, The leadership of the NCRI shows that under the leadership of women there can be changes that are beneficiary for the whole society. Mrs. Rajavi also states that women shall also receive equal pay as men for equal work. Women must enjoy the same social benefits as men.
A woman must have the right to daycare for her children if she is working and she will have a right to maternity leave during pregnancy and after delivery. Mrs. Rajavi is also clear on the subject of marriage, no woman shall be forced to marry without her consent, she will be free to choose her own spouse. She will also have the right to divorce her spouse if she wishes. But one of the most important rights that Mrs. Rajavi has stated is the abolition of child marriage, no child under age can be forced into marriage. Every day at least 2000 women are arrested because of violation of dress code this is is a major violation of women’s rights and will be abolished in the future Iran.
The Sharia law will be repealed under the rule of Mrs. Rajavi, she states that the new law in Iran will be based on Human rights and democracy. She is also firm in her statement to abolish death penalties such as stoning and hanging. She is clear in her view that these are medieval punishments and have no place in a free and democratic Iran. Any violence against women such as domestic violence, rape or coercion will be considered a crime.
The ones that will change Iran is the women, and the mullahs know this, that is why they have put so many restrictions on women but it will fail. Iran will rise again with Maryam Rajavi at the helm and women will no longer be second class citizens but equal to men under the law. Iranian resistance remains committed to struggle to free Iran for women.
A few days before the negotiations started in Geneva Assad intensified the bombing of rebel-held areas both in Damascus and in Idlib. In an attempt to disrupt negotiations Assad intensified the military actions in the opposition-held areas in the outskirts of Damascus. This is done to put the coalition delegations under pressure and force them to pull out of the talks.
In an effort orchestrated by the Iranian regime and its affiliated militia to sabotage the political procedure, the IRGC is boosting its military attacks in Damascus suburb. Iranian regime’s militias, IRGC, prevent humanitarian aid from reaching there and have intensified bombing and shelling of the besieged areas in an attempt to force the residents to leave their homes, similar to what is happening in Sarghaya.
Eastern goutha a suburb of Damascus has been under heavy chemical attacks by Assad and his thugs, this is a known stronghold of the opposition and has been under heavy bombardment since the start of the civil war. The bombing of the area has increased in recent days due to the peace talks in Geneva.
Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir said in his speech in Munich that Iran was propping up the government of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and that the Iranian regime was destabilizing the whole region. The Turkish foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, concurred with the Saudi FM and added: “Iran wants to make Syria and Iraq Shiite” he also accused Iran of actions that had undermined security in the region and urging Tehran to promote stability. Erdogan has also in recent weeks accused Iran of promoting a “Persian nationalism” that had damaged the middle east.
A member of the Syrian National Coalition stated “Geneva talks should be focused on transfer of power in Syria as this is an issue that could most likely resolve all other issues on the table, including terrorism. We believe that resuming political talks would be somewhat futile.”
This article is based on the annual PST report for 2017, which is trying to assess the threats for the coming year.
The PST is aware of that in certain context there are countries that can pose a threat to Norwegian citizens. The Iranian regime has agents in Norway that can harm or assassinate Iranian-born Norwegians. PST consider it most likely that threats in 2017 will be “Norwegian technology targets and opponents of a regime living in exile in Norway.”
Many of the exiled opponents are living under protection from the regime of their country of origin and are under serious threats if foreign agents get access to their files. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the security around these files is at all times high. The intelligence services of a number of countries, including Iran, are making active efforts in Norway to identify individuals and groups considered to be critical of or in opposition to the clerical regime in Iran. The Iranian agent’s aim is either to threaten or to put pressure on individuals to cooperate, or to force them to desist from their criticism of the Clerical regime or their oppositional activity. This type of intelligence activity also includes identifying other individuals considered to be hostile to the clerical regime in Iran. they will, therefore, continue to be intelligence targets in 2017.
A number of states have intelligence personnel in Norway, including Iran, many of them work under diplomatic cover as employees at embassies and consulates. Some states also use positions in commercial organizations or business delegations or research institutions visiting Norway, as a cover for their intelligence personnel. The Iranian regime does not only pose a threat to the exiled in a matter of exposure of dissidents but can also threaten them in cooperating to obtain missile technology from Norwegian enterprises that develop this type of technology.
some states also use their intelligence services to attempt to limit the freedom of expression of political refugees in Norway, The Iranian regime is no exception. The Iranian Regime is making sure that the exile Iranians in Norway are aware of their presence and they intimidate the exiles by threatening their family remaining in Iran or their family living in Norway. The regime is placing agent undercover as students in universities to obtain missile technology, these students are drilled as agents and are a genuine threat to exiled Iranian dissidents also.
It is with great disbelief I watch the Swedish delegation enters Iran. The women who are in the front line fighting for women’s rights bends over and great the Iranian delegates wearing HIJAB, I had to look twice to believe this. I ask the Swedish ladies: How could you sell out all that you are fighting…
The list is not long but very bloody, there are few cities under siege at the same time but the cities that have been under siege are, Eastern Goutha, Deir Ezzor, Douma, al waer, Kafarya, Foea, Madaya, Aleppo, Tadmur, Wadi Barada, zabadani, Daraa, & Raqqa. It was not easy finding a list of the besieged cities in Syria, but the number of cities that have been under siege at one point or another in the civil war is a much longer list than what we have today.
The most famous besieged city was Aleppo, the eastern part of the city was besieged for a long period of time until the Russians and Assad had bombed out most of the hospitals, schools, and peoples homes. The government forces used every weapon in their arsenal to break down the residents in the area. They even resorted to committing genocide to win. The Assad army would not have been able to occupy Aleppo if they did not have help from foreign fighters like the Hezbollah from Lebanon and the IRGC from Iran. The media coverage given to Aleppo was the reason the rest of the world got to know Assad’s war tactics. The siege of Aleppo was the war crime that made the world aware of the atrocities committed against the Syrian civilians by Assad and his allies.
Deir Ezzor is a town on the banks of Al furat. It is in the eastern part of Syria and is currently under siege from both IS and the Syrian army. Its 180 000 inhabitants are deprived of any humanitarian aid. The government controls the airport and are currently using its position to charge horrific prices for any goods that are entering the city through the airport. ISIS is in control of the bridges to the eastern banks of the river and they are no better than the government when it comes to suppression of the civilians.
Homs, Al Waer neighborhood this part of the city was under siege for tree years, from 2012 to 2015. But it is now under regimes bombardment. The barrel bombs are falling on homes, hospitals, and schools.
Madaya, Bukein and Zabadani are located at the border of Lebanon.the cities have been under siege Since July 2015 until 11 january 2016. they have strategic value due to their location on the Lebanese border.
Idlib is another city that has been under siege by the Assad Army, they are now under heavy bombardment. The resistance that was living in eastern Aleppo was forced to evacuate to Idlib province after Aleppo was occupied. Many freedom fighters live now under harsh conditions in the Idlib governate and are under daily bombardment of Assad forces.
Also, the Barada valley was under siege for a period of time during this war, the valley is the main provider of clean drinking water for large parts of Damascus.
Eastern Goutha is the last on the list that is feeling the fury of the failing dictator of Syria. Assad and his boss Putin are dropping barrel bombs in an attempt to kill the last of the resistance in Douma with a population of 200 000. They target hospitals and homes to do the most damage. The worst part of the bombing is the double tap, first, the planes drop a barrel bomb and when the rescuers come to save the trapped civilians they drop another bomb on the same location to kill the rescuers. This action is a war crime and must lead to the prosecution of the culprits.
In these past days we have learned of yet another crime that Assad has been committing against innocent Syrian civilians, torture, and murder within prison walls, he has been able to hide the truth up until now but his crimes against his own people are now out in the open. This is crimes he must be prosecuted for.
